In addition to national recognition, the school has earned honor and prestige on the international stage, with students winning national championships while representing their respective clubs.

The Berkeley Chess School’s chess programs are designed for beginning, intermediate and advanced students of all ages. They provide a rigorous training in chess while making the process fun, with skilled and engaging instructors and an eye toward personal growth. The Berkeley Chess School offers chess instruction to K-12 students in over 150 schools throughout the Bay Area. We offer after school classes as well as chess in the classroom during the school day.

ChessPalace is your one-stop shop for all your chess needs. We host chess tournaments, provide chess lessons, and sell chess sets, books, and accessories. Operating for over 30 years, the chess club has organized over 3000 rated games for the Southern California community.

The Clovis Chess Club invites players of all skill levels to join us, free of charge. We gather every Thursday from 5PM to 9:30PM at the Carl's Jr. on Shaw/Willow in Clovis, CA. It's a wonderful opportunity to hone your skills, enjoy competitive games, and connect with fellow players. We provide all the boards, so all you need to bring is your love for the game. Sosnick Chess is an organization that was founded in memory of Stephen Sosnick, a passionate chess player and professor at UC Davis. We host an annual weekend tournament that offers a variety of events, including lectures by a Grandmaster, simultaneous play, and multiple tournament options.

The West Valley Chess Club meets 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Thursdays in Shomrei Torah Synagogue in Hirsch Hall, 7353 Valley Circle Blvd. Continuous rated tournaments, blitz, casual play, handicap accessible. One of the largest local clubs.
